Man Gets 885 years in Prison For Child Pornography

Shawn Ryan Thomas, 31, has been sentenced to 885 years in prison for the possession of a very large stash of child pornography.


Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution announced on Monday that he was sentenced on 59 counts of possession of child pornography, 15 years for each count.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Thomas communicated online with an informant regarding a disturbing plan to kidnap a child, kill the parents and sexually batter the child while filming the acts to produce child pornography.

According to a reports from NBC, Thomas lured a 9-year-old girl and her parents to a vacant home last June, but the adults grew suspicious and left.
Thomas’ public defenders said at the time, that the state would have had to prove that Thomas intended to carry out the act.

FDLE was able to intercept Thomas before he had the opportunity to successfully carry out the plans. Thomas also faces 15 years of sex offender probation for one count of possession of child pornography.
